There are two adjoining cottages at Vanner, and I stayed in Y Bwtri, the smaller one. It's perfect for couples and solo travellers, and fitted out to a high standard (including a well-equipped kitchen). Very cosy, and quiet too, with a lovely outlook on the ruins of Cymer Abbey. The location is perfect for exploring both northern and southern Snowdonia, and the cottages are easy to find, being just off the A470. The area provides many opportunities for walking and hiking, with the Mawddach Trail and New Precipice Walk both accessible directly from the cottages. Last but not least, the owner is friendly and helpful, and provides a generous welcome pack of wine, milk, fresh eggs and snacks. Recommended.

Stayed in Y Bwtri cottage for a week. Everything very well presented with a "welcome" basket of gifts when you arrive. Living room overlooks ruined abbey. Very comfortable and handy location for walks, bike rides and steam railway visiting.

This site is in a lovely location close to a historic abbey. We were right next to the facilities block on the road so it was a bit busy most of the time with people and cars. The showers left a bit to be desired to be honest, there was no power and went fairly cold when someone was washing up! Also the toilets ran out of loo roll very regularly, but a fab location and good to get on to the cycle way.
