A lovely drive through beautiful countryside was finished with a drive down a long and secluded feeling path... Upon pulling up to Strata the enormity of the accommodation becomes apparent... In the children's exact words 'is ALL of this for US?'... We came as a large family unit to get away from the world and boy did we instantly feel like we had gotten away ! The communication from the owners beforehand meant that settling in was easy and straightforward and the added little touches meant we could pack lighter than we have in the past. The accomodation is spacious, crazy spacious. Warm and welcoming. Not too posh but posh isn't what we were after, we wanted comfortable, functional and in an amazing area. We weren't disappointed at all. We were expecting basic as it's the outdoors and for the price but it exceeded our expectations in many ways. The only downside isn't really a downside at all, it just took us a few wanders round to find our way, it's SO big. But once we knew where our bedrooms and bathrooms were we soon got used to it! The views are epic, it was so secluded it felt like we had the mountains all to ourselves ! Plenty of areas to enjoy the views and plenty of games , equipment and added bonuses like WiFi and DVDs etc. Every day the views seemed different, watching clouds rolling in or chickens wandering past! It's the little things that made the stay 10/10... Loads of recycling bins, tonnes of parking, a brilliant games area with pool table, darts and table tennis... The place was clean and well stocked with bedding and toilet paper, crockery etc... Just feels like the owners have taken a lot of care when setting it all up. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas, can't stress enough how special the location is. Thanks to the owners for giving us some much needed family 'time out' , we will certainly be booking again and the kids already can't wait to revisit the 'huge house in the mountains'.
