Rockpool Kayaks

Taran 16 (standard layup) is a fantastic allround boat in rocks, surf, tide race and on flat. Its difficult not to be a 4.5 kn paddler with wings. Next: the 18 in Premium (oat meal only until then). Cant wait!

I have to say my review is two piece. First; the kayak is super. Exactly what Id expected. I was just a bit reserved as my order was from the US. Took forever (16months) to be received in the states. Covid upended everything. It is though, just what Id expected. However; over the months I attempted to contact the company to get an update, to ask a question. Mr. Webb never took the time to respond even once. Not. One. Time. While Covid screwed up many things with the company; there was no excuse for failing to respond to numerous attempts to contact. So my review is 5 star for the boat itself, and 1 star for customer service and transparency. Total: 3 star.

This review is less of a review of Rockpool Kayaks, Mike Webb, and his exemplary team of composite sea kayak builders and more of a response to N/A N/A's review. Let it be stated that our annual container of Rockpool Kayaks was in fact delayed courtesy of the fine folks at DHL Global Logistics. We bring in one container every year and this year's container was delayed three months as the world began to come out of the pandemic in early 2022. It wasn't easy or inexpensive but we did the best we were able and all twenty eight clients happily received their kayaks here in the states by the end of June of 2022. Let it also be said that during the pandemic, Mike and his team of craftsmen were diligently at work building hundreds of kayaks to be sent around the world. Any and all correspondence from customers here in the US should and does come through me - the US importer/distributor and a Google reviewer who is not afraid to use his real name (I'm talking to the profile in courage posting with the N/A N/A handle). Mike Webb does not typically correspond with, provide updates to, nor give day to day progress reports to Rockpool clients here in the US or anywhere else for that matter. It's just not possible. Anonymously dinging Mike and his team on Google reviews is a petty attempt to besmirch their good name.
