After leaving another quite 'inept' surgery with no ergonomics in place at the time, I was happy to be accepted - with my husband - to Cwm Gwyrdd medical centre. Being so used to an awful service at the old surgery, ie, not being able to get appointment, no doctors there on some occasions, refusal to allow anyone to get a ring back if all appointments were full (if it was urgent, of course) - my hubby and I are very happy with the way we have been treated since we joined the new surgery about six months ago. The surgery rings patients back later in the day if there is a problem. It squeezes people in if they have an emergency, and realize that such a thing as a simple water infection in a women can be emergency level pain ( unbearable in some cases). My other half is quite ill at the moment and there is nothing they have refused us. its so comforting to feel cared for when you have an illness. That em-paths, like myself, sense the genuine concern and pick up on no impatience with their patients. I'm so glad we were accepted at Cwm Gwyrdd and having signed on there, we no longer feel that we have no hope. The last place I was a member, threw me out of the surgery for complaining that their services made it impossible to get to see a doctor. And they gave me only 6 days to find another surgery! They are supposed to give you at least one month. Maybe things at the last surgery I was in, are picking up now and addressing their inadequacies . Cwm Gwyrdd Surgery is disciplined, helpful and ergonomically efficient. All this helps people like us, who need help, get it asap. I would also like to mention that the admin staff are also very kind, calm, not abrupt or demeaning , in any way.

GP practice in Gilfach Goch . Mostly friendly people here however a few of the staff on reception will at some point no doubt test your patience I'm afraid

Literally ruined my life. Went in about panic attacks seen a dr who said they sounded like seizures (theyre not) they then informed the DVLA immediately saying I WAS having seizures (neurologist confirmed I wasnt as did CT scan etc) 5 months down the line Im still without my licence which is having a massive impact on mine and my families lives all due to the incompetence of this surgery. They have been consistently unhelpful in prescribing medication regarding my partners now chronic illness. (Other than one dr). They have openly admitted multiple times that they dont know what theyre doing. The infrastructure is an absolute joke. Nothing gets done. They tell you one thing during the appt and the do something completely different. Multiple drs disagree with each other in the surgery surrounding certain medications (amitriptyline for instance) Id highly advise ANYONE and EVERYONE who is registered under this dr to check their medical notes being put in as after me and my other half have due to these monumental mess ups. Over half of the information in there is incorrect. It will affect life insurance policies. It will affect income protection policies and thats providing that they are even capable of releasing the information they were authorised to rather than the entire medical file with all the incorrect information in it, in the first place. Absolute shambles of a dr surgery. The whole lot need to be under investigation with the gmc.
