The rudest guy I've come across in a while both on email and in person. Obviously doesn't need any business, will go an extra 50km to avoid this bike shop. Shame for such a nice town with independent businesses.

This is a bike shop that advertises as catering to touring cyclists with the words on their website that they'll do whatever they can to get them back on the road within the hour. As a touring cyclist who'd had a major, but very simple, mechanical (disk brake piston popped out, just needed reinserting and a bleed), I was happy to hear that they'd do their best. I walked 3 hours to the shop as they wouldn't answer the phone and was then told that there's absolutely nothing he could do to fix it. He first said it couldn't be repaired and I'd have to replace the brake, which isn't the case. He followed by saying he couldn't fit the bike in the shop as its a cargo bike, so I offered to take the brake off so he could work on it. Then he told me he doesn't have the parts, I told him i have all the spares needed with me. He then told me he just couldn't do it. When I asked why he told me that there are locals who need their bikes back by the weekend. I asked where else nearby was close, and the nearest bike shop was 45km away and as a touring cyclist I obviously had no way of getting there. If you're a touring cyclist, absolutely do your best to avoid this place as they definitely won't be helping you get back on the road. The owner seems like any and all passion he may have had for bikes has long since drained out.
