I've stayed in Savona probably 6 times over recent years. You don't keep coming back if you don't like a place. Crickhowell itself is an excellent place with lots of character and surrounded by wonderful scenery and trails. When you are right next door to The Bear Hotel, it takes serious self-disciple and force of will to tear yourself away and eat elsewhere on an evening (The food is that good.) Because of it's secluded position, and aspect it's lovely to sit out the front when it's sunny and warm.

I have been trying to write a review of this property for months, we booked through Brecon Holiday Cottages, they were very unaccepting of my complaints. The bungalow is dated, yes it has a brand new bathroom, but the shower room off the kitchen was awful, mould around the shower tray, we did not use it. The bedrooms have awful old furniture, the bedside table in the twin room was the type of table used in old peoples homes that slide under the bed, with a tray to eat off. The whole property was full of someone's belongings, knick knacks, linen, ornaments, books, it was as if someone had died and everything had just been left, even an old car key in the hall drawer. The ironing board was rusty and very old. In fact I believe this property was formerly occupied by the present owner's parents. On arrival the house was dusty, skirting boards etc covered in dust, carpets stained in the dining room and bedrooms, we complained to Brecon Holiday Cottages, there was no apology, they just told us that the house had been inspected by Tourism Wales and was passed. Well I don't think much of their standards then.
