We were lucky to stay at Caerwylan for two nights on a golf break. It's a beautifully kept hotel in a fabulous location within yards of the sea and with a view of Criccieth Castle (lit up at night). The rooms have clearly had some money and care spent on them, as have the bar and restaurant areas, which feature some lovely contemporary design touches, complimenting the traditional feel of the hotel (and its magnificent old-fashioned lift). We ended up eating at the hotel both nights we stayed, and were delighted we did, as the food was top notch (particularly the lamb!). But what really set Caerwylan apart was the warmth of the welcome. The staff here are an absolute credit to the hotel - even a "very well done sausage" wasn't too much trouble for them .
