The Galleon Fish & Chips

Really tasty and fresh fish and chips, but we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our order (20-25 minutes before it was finally ready) and secondly, just as they were 'dishing' ours up, they were running very low on chips, so we basically got the final dregs - barely a handful each, which was really annoying. Having stood for over 20 minutes waiting, I couldn't be bothered to wait any longer so put up and shut up.

There was no table service .you had to buy a takeaway but you could eat it in .I had fish and chips and so did my husband .my fish was half the size of my husbands it looked as though the other half fell off,it was supposed to be cod but it didn't look or taste like cod and so greasy and as for the chips it was all the bitty chips .my husband went to complain and there attitude stunk won't be going there again ,we've always gone there but it's gone down hill

The food is delicious! Some of the best fish and chips I've had in the UK. The service was mediocre. Very unhelpful staff. An easy walk from the castle. Overall, it's definitely worth popping in to eat! Note: it was a Friday afternoon and very busy, so the service might have just been due to that. It's more of a 4.5 rating.
