JAR were recommended to me by a highly qualified civil engineer friend of mine. I was looking for a talented and imaginative team to completely transform our 150 year old stone farm house / cottage into something full of light and warmth. The challenges really arose when deciding how to remove large parts of the old stone work and install huge sliding German windows without interrupting the integrity and safety of the old building. I put my ideas to James thinking it would be impossible to achieve but he came up with some quite radical solutions that would allow me to gain even more light than I had imagined. James and Chris then went to work and drew the drawings exactly as I had envisaged. The result is a once dark damp and dingy farmhouse is transformed into a modern, bright, fresh and beautiful space. Not Only were JAR excellent from the first point of contact, they maintained support for almost a year throughout the planning, the application, through to dealing with structural engineers, conversing with the builders and saving us a considerable amount of money by devising a clever solution to a very large problem that occurred mid build. An hour long meeting onsite with James (architect) My builder and structural engineer literally saved us close to 50k. We felt throughout the process that the team at JAR really cared about our project almost as passionately as we did ! I would HIGHLY recommend James and the team if you are looking for reliable, innovative, passionate, creative and good value quality service. They are super professional and deliver exactly what and when they say they will. We have already had the drawings done for our next phase of works due to start in two years and it is great to know we will be working with JAR again on that part of the project. JAR designed an extension on the side of my house so my elderly father could live with me. It was designed to perfection and it has worked really well. Dad is very pleased with his 'pad'. JAR made it so easy by submitting the plans to local authority for approval and managing the process up until the building work started. Brilliant!

Very professional service. An architectural practice with real passion for what they do. Followed the project through to the end and always there to answer questions. Highly recommended.
