Very disappointed with our experience. The property is in a great location with a lovely outlook this is the reason for the one star. Unfortunately the issues we experienced with cleanliness and safety made our stay less than enjoyable! The agent said the whole property is due for a refurb (which was delayed due to lockdown ) but they didnt make this clear when booked and were still happy to charge a premium price. Following arrival, we identified several issues which were reported to the agent right away that evening and the following morning. The property was also advertised as child friendly which was definitely not the case. - filthy oven and grill which has to be cleaned before we could use it. Childs dummy down the back of one of the beds from previous guests - stained mattresses - Stained carpet - fire alarm not working - blind cords untethered and unsafe for children on 4 windows including the childrens bedroom - only one safety gate which was fixed - there were two sets of stairs in the property!! - no carbon monoxide alarm - no WiFi - we found out it was suspended and had not been reinstated. - areas of the property which were unclean - e.g bathroom grimy , dust on top of furniture and lots of it . Dirty plates , pans cups etc etc - no evidence of gas safety inspection available - general poor state of repair throughout The agent did attempt to address some of the above although it took repeated conversations and emails to get them to agree to provide a safety gate (which only arrived on the Monday) . The agent even suggested we didnt need another gate and should simply shut the door of the main living area. A replacement fire alarm was sent on the Monday - which we had to install ourselves. A carbon monoxide alarm was finally installed on the Tuesday. Only one of the four blind cord was shortened but it was still not secured appropriately and no action was taken in relation to the other three blinds which I believe represent a continues safety risk for young children. Access to a WiFi hotspot was provided which was intermittent at best and kept dropping out.
