Thrilled with the transformation of my classic, 1950's Ercol Day Bed. I had wanted to have this beautifully crafted piece of furniture restored for a long time and an unexpected opportunity enabled me to ask David Valentine to undertake the work. I had kept the original Sanderson fabric cushions and asked him to French Polish the wood a lighter shade to complement them as well replace the webbing. What a fabulous piece of furniture I had delivered back! Thank you David all the team at the Valentine Workshop!

The shop occupied by French polishers, Valentine Wood and Sons had previously been a butchers as can be seen from the exquisite tiling on the exterior though more notably the interior. If you're an admirer of decorative tiling then it's well worth visiting. If you're lucky and the shop is open when you visit you can ask permission to enter the shop to take a closer look at the painted tile portraits of cattle and beef animals that adorn the interior. If the shop is closed you can still peer at them through the windows and the tiled shop front can always be seen.
