EDIT: the old surgery has been bought now, so theres that brought idea gone. Having grown up in Coelbren and now in my late 30s, I can say that this is the best the village shop has ever been. When I was a kid it was owned by a wonderful family, I was friends with the children and I have so many happy memories. Particularly when VHS was a thing and you could rent the videos, sit at home and have a film fest with crisps, pop and sandwiches XD Since then it has gone through some ownership changes and has been closed for a long time, but now it's a Premier Store under new management, it is stocked to the ceiling with produce, and there are offers here and there, that allow it to work for the village. The interior has been modernised and updated and is spacious enough, with plenty of light to see and find what you are looking for. My only gripe is the impact it has on the immediate residents around the shop, due to deliveries, and customers parking inconsiderately - on pavements, across driveways, etc. Buses still run through Coelbren and are often blocked due to this thoughtlessness. Personally.. I think this shop would absolutely THRIVE if it moved to the old doctors surgery at the bottom of the village. It's still within walking distance, it has parking at the front of the building and would be a sound investment. I reckon you'd have greater footfall from visitors to Henrhyd Waterfalls too, if they know there is somewhere they could park and grab some provisions. The space too big? Team up or create a cafe branching off from it too! Add public toilets into the mix, a post office. Could you imagine how that would work for the village?! It would be AMAZING. Current owners - I'm not sure if the surgery has finally been sold but please seriously consider this. It could be SPECTACULAR
