A double nave church dating from the 12th century, with very rich features and monuments inside relating to the Middleton family of Chirk Castle. The 15th century timber roof of the North nave has intricate carved bestiary and heraldic imagery and figures. The stone font is a 17th century, octagonal piece, dated to 1662 with carvings on each face. The pulpit is also intricately carved. The Middleton monuments inside the church are lavish and striking, befitting their position as the lords of the castle. The stained glass is equally lavish, and range in age.
