Amazing little Welsh school. Started off as a single class and has now grown into a fully pledged primary school with a nursery, reception and classes right through to year six. Ysgol Glan Morfa is located at the end of a dead end street so passing traffic is minimal. They have a fair sized playground with outdoor toys e.g. a climbing frame, slide, rope bridge, swinging tyre, pirate ship and other small things to play with, as well as a dedicated outdoor storytime area with a grandeur carved wooden chain and artificial grass for the kids. The school itself is a very cosy community school, with a very pleasant and caring set of teachers and assistants. They run regular activities e.g. Easter/Halloween/Christmas parties, which usually entail a disco and stalls with a BBQ outside, as well as many other community events and assemblies through the year. They have a wooden/forestry area in the grounds which they make full use of exploring wildlife and nature making it a fun and safe way for the kids to get in touch with their surroundings. They run a range of in and after school clubs, from music lessons to sport and digital clubs, so there's something for everyone. School dinners are very good. I have four children that have gone to this school and none of them have ever complained about the food, in fact, the cook in very personal with the kids and know most of their quirks and works with them, again, a very caring school. The PTA are a very open group and welcome input, suggestions and help from parents who aren't a member but would like to help, so everyone feels involved. The school is completely flat so wheelchair access is very good. On a side note, due to it's success, the school will be moving to a brand-new purpose built building in September 2018 which will be located not far away opposite the Maltings.
