It was great. My third time bouldering and this was the third venue iv bouldered at. +Great pizza +Great space and not cramped climing areas, great for a group. +Good seating +Kids climing area seems great for when mine are older. -Walls themselfs could be shaped more intrestingly for v1-2 climers. The biggest pros for this venue compaired to the others were its space and layout. This space ment it was much more chilled as you did not have to worry about were you are standing constantly due to mostly not having climbing walls oppisite each other. Its also mostly dedicated to bouldering so thats a massive pluss for me. Most people i spoken to say this is better than boulders (the other place in cardiff) for bouldering and im new to it so cant say to much only doing v1-2 and halfway up v3s at best. I like them both maybe flashpoint a bit more and id take a group of 4 or more to flashpoint every time due to the space. The one thing it seems lacking in. The wall shapes themselfs are to stright along that main long wall. Its biggest strength in its layout is also its biggest werkness. It has very few right angles to its wall and i dont have many/any? external right angles that go all the way to the floor so at my level i did not find i used the walls to grab or kick off from much only the holds and ledges. This lack probably dose make it safer though. For me both my two faverate boulders iv done were at boulders due to more intresting wall shapes for my level of climbing. However id probably still come here two out of three times for bouldering. Still 5 star for chill vibes, great space and nice staff.
