Had an email on 8th October to say I would receive the probate document in 10 working days. I have emailed 3 times asking if it has been sent or lost in the post but have not received a reply only an automated reply. I tried phoning but no one answers.

I applied for a letter of administration around 4-5 months ago. My mum's case had been put on hold as they needed further documents but failed to contact me about it. I sent in the documents needed the same day. That was over a month ago now. I've called each week asking for an update and have been told my case was treated as a priority. Last week, I was told I'd hear from an examiner within the week. I hadn't heard anything so I called back. I was then told all the information I'd had prior wasn't true and I'm looking at another 6-8 week wait. I then asked to speak to a manager. No swearing, no frustration shown by myself on the phone. As soon as I mentioned the word manager, the agent terminated the call. I'd spent over an hour waiting to get through. Working in a contact centre myself, I understand it's stressful and fast paced. But there's a human being on the other end of the phone, wanting some closure since their loved one has died. I'm really disappointed and hurt by the handling of mum's case.

Tried contacting this service and after 35 mins wait my husband expressed his frustration by saying how long he had had to wait and used the word bloody in his comment and that he wanted to speak to a supervisor. The usual cretinous response was received - I will not tolerate swearing and she put the woman phone down. DREADFUL SERVICE
