Buyer beware if you buy a property sharing a party wall or border with a United Welsh property. United Welsh have been carrying out works on two properties that sandwich ours in a terrace. Since then the contractors they have used have removed tiles off our roof (and put them back poorly, including using silicone in wet weather to wedge them down), stepped onto our extended roof to access their property and scaffolding they had erected, caused damage to fresh paintwork on our property and have constantly gaslit us with excuses about the conduct of the companies they are using to carry out the work. They have no respect for other people or other people's property. They also seem to have no control and management over the work, as we have regularly been told by the site manager for United Welsh that they 'didn't realise XYZ was happening' when it comes to work. When we complained about the conduct of contractors in regards to the damage or disrespect to our property, the site manager appeared to take the contractors word for it that they hadn't moved tiles/stepped onto our roof etc. We were also told no party wall agreement was needed for their work, which we now believe was a lie as they would have to delay work to obtain one. I can only feel for residents in properties managed by United Welsh, if they treat tenants with as much contempt as they do people sharing a property boundary with theirs.
