I went yesterday to check on an infection on my thumb; every one was polite and professional and the nurses advice made a difference. However, one thing I found upsetting was that in the reception area was only a banner wishing Ramadan Mubarak but nothing to wish Happy Easter. I felt uncomfortable and almost an unvalued minority. Judging from the dressing style the lady in the reception was Muslim so didnt want to make her uncomfortable by asking why there is no mention of Easter as it was of Ramadan, shes there to help not get into a religious quarrel with patients however, if in a time where all is about equality and being politically correct we favour some supposedly minorities over the rest then were not respecting everyones equal rights. Specially when this happens in public institutions it only makes me feel things are not going in the right direction.
