Darren and team did a superb job replacing our roof, dormer and creating a new bedroom and en suite in the loft. Joists needed strengthening, staircase replaced and new windows fitted. Very good attention to detail, problem solving and patience! Diolch!

Darren and his team at Forty Builders are absolutely superb. We had difficulties finding builders to take on a substantial renovation of our 1930's house, encompassing a large knock through/single storey extension and upstairs dormer/renovation. Others were either put off by the large amount of steelwork involved or provided extremely misleading quotes. Darren's quote on the other hand was realistic, competitive and extremely detailed. It was clear they had recent experience of large scale jobs, with a real understanding of building regulations and structural requirements which really put us at ease. In addition they were clear that everything was priced into the quote, which means no 'stealth' fees as the build progressed. When the build commenced Darren did as much as humanly possible to ensure everything ran to plan. He and his team were extremely punctual, attentive and did their best to minimise disruption as we had no choice to live in the house as the works were carried out. There were no down days which meant you saw constant progress. Unlike some other builders they really cared about our needs, placing an emphasis on clear communication which enabled us to make considered decisions as and when required. Darren went to great lengths to make sure he understood our 'vision' for how we wanted our extension to look, but he also made sure he managed our expectations so that we understood what was possible and what wasn't. He and his team would always take the extra time to explain the next stage of the process for us which really alleviated any built up stress as homeowners. Flexibility is also a huge plus for them. We had several difficulties with our kitchen including missing units and poor customer service from our chosen retailers. Despite the disruption this caused, Darren made sure his team worked around revised timescales without causing further delay. A little overlooked but also massively important is the level of aftercare they provide. If something isn't quite finished to their extremely high standards they make it their priority to fix as soon as possible. Overall I couldn't recommend Forty Builders enough. They place a premium on being extremely professional and their reputation is more than deserved. I will definitely be using them again in the future when we tackle the rest of the house/garden!

Forty Builders have recently completed a single storey rear extension on our house and we are delighted with the final results. Darren and the team made the project seamless from start to finish. Friendly, punctual and trustworthy, a really skilled team and professional at all times. Darren has a great eye for detail and is clearly very knowledgable and passionate about his work. Would recommend and would definitely use again!

We used Forty Builders to renovate our house and were thrilled with the results. We bought a house in much need of work (new electrics/plumbing etc., reconfiguration of layout both upstairs and down, installation of underfloor heating, new kitchen and bathrooms) and Darren and his team transformed it into our modern, comfortable home. Not only were we very pleased with the work, but we were incredibly impressed with the support and time afforded by Darren - he was always happy to go through everything in great detail to make sure we understood each aspect of the work - this helped greatly when making decisions. Darren was very accommodating when we asked for additional work (outside the original brief) to be carried out, when we made last minute changes(!), and he went above and beyond and liaised with third party trades that we had organised. Overall this was a pretty big project, one that we certainly couldnt have managed independently, and it was successful thanks to Darren and his lovely team. If we were to undertake a project again, I would want Forty Builders to do it.
