I've been working with the SMS PLC team for several months and am impressed by their professionalism and curiosity.
Looking at their services 'EV Fleet Solutions' and 'EV Installation Companies' more generally, I see huge potential to offer a superb service to a growing market. Recommended.

At the end of the installation the engineer explained he wasn't able to get the smart meters to communicate, so had fitted their upgraded version which is apparently better at sending WiFi signals further and better in solid wall environments. However, this hadn't worked and therefore our new smart meters were not working and we would now receive estimated bills. Not great at a time when the entire country is concerned about rising energy costs. He then left and said someone else would call to rectify this issue. After he left I found that he kindly left his dirty hand prints all over our recently decorated walls, wire clippings and rubble on our hall floor, externally he hadn't bothered refitting the gas meter cover, the parts he'd removed were just left on the side path along with the cardboard box the new parts had arrived in! It was like he'd walked away from the job half way through doing it.
A really poor, unprofessional and disappointing experience and not one we'd recommend. We now have 2 Dumb Meters that I can't even read manually and are awaiting SMS plc to come back out to rectify. Apparently they are more concerned going out fitting more rubbish than rectifying the problems they've created. My advice would be stick with your existing meters and definitely avoid any dealing with this awful service. I hope this at least helps other people make a decision on whether or not to make the change. There's a lot of truth in that old saying, "if it's not broken, don't bother trying to fix it"
UPDATE;
With the problems previously mentioned, the smart meters still don't work. We have found out that they don't work with your normal home WiFi and have their own built-in sim card which should connect to their own communication network. We've now been told that this is not good in our area and that's why they can't communicate our usage. I don't know why they wouldn't have known this prior to installation, surely they should have checked but I think they're so keen to meet their installation quoters, they're not bothered whether they work or not. Having researched a little bit more I've found that 1 in 3 installations end up with a similar outcome!
