Having holiday in Burry Port for many many yrs. I have always found Elgan butchers got a fantastic meat display sausages really tasty. If I come down for a day as live in Ystrad Mynach (nr Caerphilly) I only have to phone him & he gets my order ready for me to pick up. I had not bn to Burry Port for about 2yrs he new me stright awsy when walked into shop. With a warm welcome I have given 5 star for these reason. He calls me lady from cearphilly he best butcher around the area I found

Customer ordered a collection of Lamb liver. So we contacted this Butcher by phone to check they had it and if could be paid for by card. We asked them to put 5lbs by. So Cabbie set off to collect the lambs liver. On arrival they had not prepared the order prior. So again cab driver asked for Lamb liver, and of course then paid for iT, then cab driver drove some 10 miles at the cost of 22 to the customer plus 9 99 for the liver. The following day the customer notified the cab firm they were not supplied lamb liver, and as a result fed it to their dogs. Being embarrassed we contacted this Butcher expecting them to resolve the matter tidy like. Well no such luck folks. This butcher maintained it was lamb given. As a result we have taken the decision that customer service and repeat business means little to this butchers. As a result they have now lost 3 customers including myself. As if the customer who likes lamb liver would not know the difference. Shocking service and customer service. Was the meat off ?I don't think so Rodney you plonker The customer wrote today - It was as tough as old boots too. I'm back on a high protein diet so I've been following Er in doors recipe since Christmas for this. Been cooking it twice a week. Oh god. It was absolutely awful. From what I've read, it might also have been calf's liver. Similar to look at but the taste is very different
