Alex Allpress Pottery School & Studio

Alex hosted our group of 12 for a family birthday celebration. He was very kind, patient and professional. We learnt so much in 3 hours and everyone got to throw a pot on the wheel, and make and decorate a coil pot. It was the perfect morning. Don't hesitate to book. We'll return for more tuition if we're ever back in the area

My partner and I loved our three hour pottery experience. Alex was informative and patient with our throwing skills. We are having three pots fired and have taken others home. Having time to make a coil pot and many pots on the potters wheel was brilliant! Highly recommend this experience and hopefully we will return in the near future. Alex, thank you very much!

We spent the most enjoyable morning with Alex learning pottery. We were both complete beginners and had a go at coil pots and, most enjoyably, on the wheel. We booked in for 3 hours and the time absoultley flew by - a good sign for sure! We could have very happily spent a whole day. Alex was incredibly friendly, patient and a brilliant tutor; his balance between excellent advice and letting us have a go meant we were able to make 4 beautiful creations that were very much ouir own, but still functional (Bowls, tricket pots, vases and even a jug!). It was especially helpful to have a friendly expert on hand to mend our silly mistakes (like accidentally chopping the top of our vase off with the cheese wire!). I would recommend this over and over again to anyone wanting to get your hands dirty with pottery; we feel like we got the best first experience possible. Thanks Alex, another reason to come back to Wales! :)
