Drainforce is expensive and did not get the job done. Do not use them. I had three drains to inspect. When I eventually got hold of someone on the phone (I had to ring the accounts dept) I was able to book a time at their convenience and had to pay in advance. Whilst the chap who came to do the job was very pleasant, he was not in the least resourceful. I knew more about drains than he did! And within the day I had a report, full of H&S metrics and no substance, advising that the job was completed to my satisfaction. Nothing further from the truth. One drain was inspected with the camera and found to be clear. A second drain was found to contain silt and a stone lodged in the silt approximately 3m into the drain. It was poked a little and I was told there was nothing that could be done I could try 2 options: 1. Contact Welsh Water who may have a rod retrieval service who may be able to get it out; or 2. Dig it up. I requested a quote to dig it up and was advised that I would have it later that day or the following day. The gentleman in the office advised that he was short staffed and even though I explained the risk of flooding to the property and therefore the importance of rapid actions there seemed to be little concern for my predicament. I am still waiting for the quote. A third drain which I suspected may have been a blocked soakaway was inspected. At first I was assured that my assumption was correct ie there was nothing that could be done. It wasnt until I put my hand in the drain and found an outlet that any this opinion was revised. A gullywhip was used to try to unblock it. I was advised that the whole pipe was blocked and it was linked to the stone in the other drain even though the stone was upstream of this drains possible connection. The solution was dig up the stone, clear the silt and hopefully this third drain could be unblocked. Frustrated I contacted another local company and explained the situation. They arrived promptly and within a few minutes removed the approximately 30 mm deep silt over the 3 m upstream of the stone. They then proceeded to jet out the drain, unblocking it of the stone and any remaining silt. Satisfaction! On examining the third drain the blocked soakaway correction, the silted up drain a few strokes with the plunger and it was freed. Again complete customer satisfaction. In the light of the Drainforces failure to do the job, I contacted Drainforce twice to ask if they would consider a reasonable refund on account of their poor performance. I'm still waiting for a response. Use West Wales Waste - cheaper and far more resouceful
