Ridiculous waiting time for some ck note told today I would have to wait 15 days to have sick note issued staff just say thats how it is they dont care that employers wont pay wages if note not put in on time doctors need to start putting in full weeks instead of 2/3 half days

I just wanted to share my experience of my GP practice today which was excellent on so many levels. We read all the time about the failings on the NHS and what primary care is doing badly/wrong and ineffectively. I had reason to contact the GP surgery today and after a wait in the call queue (expected at 8am on Mon morning) was advised to come to the surgery between 9-11 this morning, also informed they were very busy and likely be a wait. Good to have heads up so brought a book. Waited approx 40mins ( again not a problem as I would not be at the GP surgery unless the issue was something I felt was needed their intervention so had freed up the morning), saw Dr Y Kletta who allowed me time to explain my problem, took good history, excellent examination, ordered various tests including emergency bloods which he did there and then. He talked me through what would happen next and despite me getting upset at one point was able to answer questions and reassure me with a plan. He texted me the same afternoon with update on bloods and arranged follow up. His manner was super, calm, caring, thoughtful and helpful at every stage. Oaktree and especially Dr Kletta you have made a scary day so much easier. Thank you for all you do for your patients in ridiculously tough times.
