This place should be the best cafe in town. It certainly has the best location and a busy one at that being at the start of the Brecon canal system. I would have liked to give it four or five stars, it is good but it is only about average in most departments. Most of the staff are nice and friendly and that is their best attribute. Some however lack even the most basic of customer orientated training/skills. The choice in regard to food and snacks hovers around the middling mark (not the fullest of displays) as are the tables, chairs and table accoutrements. Just a solid 3 star standard at the moment.

Now The cultural Cafe operating at the side for C19. Quick simple service, good coffee and proper sandwiches. Good and worth using

We got there few minutes before they were stopping to serve food and we were refused food which I don't even mind. What I do mind is the fact that I politely asked for just a plain baked potato for my baby since our day out got longer than expected and I havent prepared any lunch for him. We were still told that chef said he won't serve us. Then 10 minutes later a table next to us got 3 full on plates of food. I mean... all that baked potato takes is chucking it into a microwave for few minutes so if you are still preparing much more complicated dishes I cannot see why was it impossible to put a potato in a microwave. Then all we could hear was the "chef" singing in the kitchen extremely loudly, obviously he was very excited to finish work and not to have a care in the world. Well... if you're in service industry and cannot be bothered to put a potato in the oven because you're shift is up, then you should find a different job
