I left Beacon foods 2 and a half years ago and upon working at several similar workplaces, I can confidently say there is an absolute lack of respect toward the blue collar workers there. The office staff are wholly separated from them, creating a distinct divide. The pay is minimum wage and the ethos seems to be: Let good staff take on more responsibility for an extra 30 quid per month and if they give up, we can replace them no problem. If not for cheap Eastern European labour, the factory itself would have shut down by now or perhaps have been forced to raise the rate of pay from minimum. There are no perks and every penny is scrimped for the all-important quarterly profit. As is often the case, fellow staff are just and sociable people, it is the upper management that have no skill to connect with the actual workers. Perhaps things have changed since I worked there, but if management hasn't been improved, I would recommend staying away from Beacon Foods as a factory worker.
