You need to be careful when booking to ensure that you rent a quality caravan in good order and that the location is one with a good view of the sea and looking towards Aberdovey. Privately owned units that are let are generally newer and better looked after (as per one we booked) than Park Dean's own. The indoor swimming pool here isn't huge, but is OK with a watershoot that you do have to go outside to climb and get into. However, during our stay the toilets at the pool were closed and locked!! The site shop is good, though as you might expect, not cheap. The same goes for the bar, where you'll pay over 4 for a pint of Carling in the evening, and over 3 for half a pint of cider. The evening entertainment is best when the site have brought in a singer etc, rather than relying on their own entertainers. Although their equivalent to Redcoats are very helpful, interesting and customer facing. Food in the on site restaurant is akin to Wetherspoons, but more expensive, again as you might expect. Overall, 'it is what it is'.... Hi-Di-Hi Campers"...... It was ok 'for just a few days break' between your usual holidays.

Where to start; we went to this site last week in a private rented caravan, which was lovely even if it was at the top of a hill called cardiac Hill, but my problem doesn't lie with the van it's with the site. When we arrived we found out there was no water being supplied to some of the vans on site ours being one of them we were told we could get water from the launderette at the bottom of the hill which meant frequent trips up and down filling bottles so we could wash and flush toilets , we were told we could use the pool showers so booked in for a swim but on trying the pool it was freezing and not suitable for my 18 month old grandson so we asked the way to showers and were told they also were cold as the boilers had broken. So we had to last 4 days until the water was restored on the Tuesday, when we complained we were told if we weren't happy we should go home !!!!! The holiday was a total sham there is no soft play as was advertised as that flooded in winter, the takeaway is just ordering frozen pizza from bar at 12 each, and during our stay the card machine broke the tills wouldn't open the coffee machine was broken there was broken glass in outside seating area and the whole place was being run by children, will never book parkdean again I wrote and complained and was basically told it isn't their responsibility as I booked private but all the problems were caused by the site absolutely disgusting!!!!

Borth is great. Brynowen and Parkdean are not. We are actually owners of a caravan on Brynowen and when we first had the caravan Brynowen was a lovely caravan park. Now it is not. First it was the gas test. They just didn't want to do it regardless of us booking it to be done before the drain down. Then when it was done there was a fault after we drained up. We basically came to a caravan that we weren't sure we would be able to use safely. We drove 3 hours with zero communication from the park that there was a problem. We were unable to have heating on and had to have cold showers. Now we have waited since March for the boiler repair, & despite repeated attempts at communication, Brynowen has failed to answer. So if you are considering buying a caravan at Brynowen: don't bother. There are plenty of other caravan sites in Borth.
