Top Of The Woods

We had an absolutely lovely Easter weekend camping trip at Top of the Woods. Soo and Jon seems to have brought together just the right mix of everything you want from a fantastic campsite, but without making it feel too commercial or removed from nature. We joined Alice on a Dark Sky Safari on our first evening, which was fascinating, we had pizzas in the barn as well as Sunday breakfast (both of which were delicious, and the pizzas were declared as the best my daughter had ever had), listened to campfire stories, explored the lovely circular walking route, swam in the (not so secret on an Easter Sunday) waterfall, did a dragon egg hunt and on the last evening our girls watched a film in the barn. The facilities were immaculate, with everything you needed close by. Soo and Jon were both very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We would certainly return, but next time for a longer stay as there were still loads we wanted to explore. Huge thanks from the Craigs.

What a wonderful place! My husband, 2 children (ages 10 and 6) and I have spent 2 weeks camping in the Meadow campsite at Top of the Woods. We recommend it wholeheartedly. It is a clean, well-run campsite set in a beautiful location. There is so much to do nearby, and Jon and Soo are extremely helpful and pleasant. Make sure you visit the Secret Waterfall, order pizzas, admire the night sky, walk on the Preseli Hills and explore some of the secret beaches.

We loved our time at Top of the Woods. The setting is so beautiful and 'off the beaten track' but with so much close by to see and do. We took lovely long walks in the area. Jon and Soo were very welcoming hosts and work tirelessly on adding to the delights at their site. They even gave us some free-range eggs from the chickens! The showers and loos are wonderful and very clean etc I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Quite simply the best campsite we've ever been to! A proper hidden gem, loads of wilderness for the kids to roam free in, great facilities, clean and tidy, stunning location, really helpful hosts with loads of local tips for days out and well situated to explore the stunning countryside and coastline. The night skies are amazing and the site is very peaceful and well laid out. Highly recommend ordering the weekend breakfast too! Looking forward to returning next year!
