Rooms: they were small and incredibly unpractical as you couldnt do anything such as deposit stuff or move freely around the caravan Nearby activities: there was nothing you could do, nothing from the site and the details werent true, we were told there was a spa however that was closed or non existent. Safety: the jacuzzis were not being cleaned, they were dirty, there was no light at night around the camp.

Oh where to start? We read in the Daily Post (twice, on consecutive days no less) that the restaurant had reopened with "celebrity chef" trained staff. I had worked with the Roux brothers in the 80s on TV shows and looked forward to supporting this establishment. Therefore, as we are local and had always wanted to try this restaurant but couldn't because of Covid etc etc we thought this would be a good time to start a regular habit of dining here. The site is saturated with cars, too many for its size if truth be told. Blimey, the caravans are close together! Parking was a nightmare. The restaurant looked welcoming at first site. However, we sat at just after 8pm and found the service to be somewhat disorganised with various staff coming to take orders even before menus being offered. Then the noise started! It was Saturday night and there was an act (not mentioned during booking) that used volume as its main selling point. Even at the opposite end of the room that meant conversation was simply not possible between the four of us. My hearing is good enough for professional sound recordist duties, but this racket was on another level. Despite asking (in loud shouty voices) for the volume to be moderated nothing was done. Maybe they could not hear us? We sat, either without conversation or shouting with one ear cupped to hear the others which made using knife and fork together really awkward. We seriously considered leaving after our starter because of the noise. Even during the singer's break when we could speak the service was poor. We were ignored. We were made to feel that we were trouble makers. The noise restarted. No offers of dessert menu/coffee/another drink. We were abandoned. The bill arrived with drinks that were never brought appearing in the total. Regretfully no tips tonight. It was a relief to leave, but we still had to navigate the car parking, from which we just about managed to extract ourselves. Never again I'm sorry to say, despite tasty fayre. We had great hopes for a quality local eatery. Ho hum. 4 stars for the food but lose 2 for the awful experience.

Food & drinks: Views just beautiful, lodge was immaculate and had Everything you needed even a little complimentary box with wash cloths, washing up liquid, teas and coffee. Restaurant was very accommodating, let me and my partner have dinner at our lodge as our younger boy is autistic. The staff where very happy to accommodate him and his needs at the restaurant and they also let my older boy and his friend eat at the restaurant alone they felt very grown up and have told all there friends just a shame we only booked for 3 nights we would be happy to stay longer we would like to thank the staff and we will be booking again in the future
