A really beautiful spot, very close to a stunning forest. A gushing streams runs through the fields below the house, with plenty of bends and pools to explore. The house is well appointed and we arrived to an amazing selection of cakes. It is very well heated, as well as having a wood burning fire with plenty of wood. The owners are really lovely, and the house has everything you could need. The beds are very firm with a great selection of bedding, and the floor level window in the upstairs double is a lovely touch. The kitchen isn't massive, but does has a dishwasher which helps. The dining table has such a lovely view of the hills straight out the French doors. The porch is fantastic for muddy boots and is a sun trap, making the little table there great to sit at. The high ceilings and rafter roof in the main sitting area give a great sense of space. The hard floor steps down to the kitchen are a tiny bit slippy for older dogs but otherwise it is great for bringing the dog. There is an outdoor hose, and the aforementioned sunny porch warms easily, making it perfect for a dog to dry off. The homemade cake left out for us was so delicious, and the owner stopped by a few times to make sure we had everything we needed, being very helpful with local advice as well. The Internet is fairly weak, but quite good for such a rural location. It did go down on us for a bit, but we did have high winds, and it came back later on the same day so don't worry if that happens. Would definitely stay here again, there is so much to do nearby (would highly recommend the falconary experience), we were here for a weekend but really wished we could have stayed longer. You drive up through a gorgous forest to get to the property and as well as making for a spellbinding final approach, it is very much worth exploring.
