Having experienced difficulties, delay and lack of help from the Treharris Well+ pharmacy in obtaining essential prescription medication ordered 72 previously, I then had the good fortune to attend Oaklands Surgery at Bedlinog for an appt. They couldnt have been more helpful. Whilst they werent able to dispense the required medication due to geographical restrictions, the pharmacist offered to call a pharmacy in Nelson, confirmed they had access to all the required medication and she then arranged for the prescription to be dropped there, by their courier so I would be able to collect the medication the following day. As I currently have restricted mobility this was a godsend. So grateful to the pharmacist, who I feel went out of her way to assist me, when the Treharris pharmacy should perhaps have considered doing so. Thank you Oaklands

Absolutely shocking service with this one and Treharris is terrible. I have tried to get my son in for an appointment then I have a doctor who tbh sounded like he had been on the wine all day ring after two days of trying to get an appointment and his answer its a viral infection... without seeing him asking more than two questions that was his diagnosis... these doctors are amazing being able to come up with this without any examination and two questions... this is why there are so many people in a & e and why there are so many people with ailments that could be cured with early detection. Avoid the place if humanly possible...

If I was writing this review prior to Valleys Medical Group taking over, I would have given five stars when It was run by one Doctor & one nurse who managed this practice well. Then, youd get through on the phone, appointments could actually be made & youd be seen the week if not the same day. Even in the height of a pandemic Valleys Medical Group took over this practice during 2021 with I believe 3 different Doctors present at the surgery. Now, theres no facility to book appointments (you have to call on the day and hope for the best) & trying to get through on the phone can take up to an hour some days. I was sent to Treharris to collect my prescription which is morphine. On collection my partner was told that not all of my morphine was available and to come back. This was on a Tuesday. He left it until the following Tuesday to collect only to be told that they didnt have it as they had given it to someone else! Totally unacceptable. Whilst there, another gentleman who came in for his prescription was told his medication had been mixed up and given to someone who shared the same name but different address. I mean seriously? Honestly, the previous Doctor served an entire village, a one man show during Covid and for the last twenty years. The Valleys Medical Group need to seriously look at the way in which its currently being run because theres really no excuse when, as i say, one doctor managed this practice offering same day appointments, telephone lines wasnt constantly engaged and you had the reassurance of knowing your doctor was available to see you when need be
