More of a historic reference but location wise this place is top notch. Years ago some friends and I renovated an old barn here. The then owner Nemro and his wife were short-fuse people but generally pretty agreeable. The renovated barn enabled us to spend many happy times there. It was a walkers delight and Im sure there was a stations of the cross path through the rhododendrons. Great pubs in the village too.

We ventured on the mountain paths to locate Dinas Emrys. This is a remote place steeped in history with Goats on the hillside which we avoid disturbing because they are large and there is a good sized heard of them so keep quiet and a look out as you aften stumble upon them when you least expect it. There are information boards worth reading in the buildings at the car park and different coloured arrows lead to different paths around the mountains. Great to explore, take drinks and food to get your energy back. Sticks can help traverse the mountain. Keep dogs on lead just incase you bump into wild Goats especially when you go through gates higher up the mountains.

Beautiful area to stay for a few days and the National Trust are working on turning it into holiday cottages/apartments. Recommended for a short stay.
