We went here wen it was The Shed. We had a lovely leisurely meal at lunchtime with a nice gap between courses. Helpful and polite service without being fussy.

The Shed is my newest date-night spot recommendation. This classy little restaurant is tucked away amongst the forever inventive metal box village that is Goodsheds, Barry. The Shed Restaurant takes a contemporary twist on local ingredients and serves gorgeous dishes, finished with finesse, straight out from their open plan kitchen - a meal and a show! Good food, good wine and a glistening variety of local gins from my favourite Cardiff Distillery ! The gin is so good they even cook with it! We enjoyed: Rosemary and olive oil Focaccia with handcrafted tomato butter! (I could stop here and take a long time to explain how good that butter was!). Cardiff Distillery gin cured smoked salmon served with blood orange, pickled cucumber and soda bread. Crispy duck terrine with piped spiced date pure, celeriac and pear. Pan roast hake served with new potatoes, asparagus, broad beans and a silky pea pistou. Sirloin steak smothered in peppercorn sauce, served with a crispy oxtail bon bon and truffle and Parmesan chips. The Shed Restaurant is a perfect example of the promise and aspiring future that can be found from restoring yet another corner of Barrys glorious industrial quarter. The perfect location to impress loved ones, show off local Welsh talent and celebrate special occasions. not just any old shed, THE Shed.

Fabulous place. Four of us went for dinner on Saturday and enjoyed everything. Lovely staff, amazing food, good choice for all dietary requirements, budget-friendly options on the wine list..... The sticky toffee pudding was the highlight, but everything was amazing.
