A gorgeous little church tucked away in the green space between the Colcot, Buttrills and Gibbonsdown areas of barry. Unless you were shown you wouldn't know it was there. Credited (and then dedicated) toSt Teiloin the 6th century. The current church is Norman, built in the early 13th century, and was consecrated byBishopWilliam de BurghofLlandaffin 1250.The church fell into neglect during the reformation periodbut was fully restored in the late 19th century. In 1970 it underwent renovation: amongst other things, the windows were reglazed and the church was reroofed in Welsh slate. It is now formally dedicated to both SaintsDyfanandTeilo and as recently as 2010 the local parish continued to claim it to be the oldest Christian site in Wales, citing the legends concerning King Lucius. Ideal for the peace, tranquility and beauty it offers to an otherwise chaotic and slightly impoverished end of barry. Frequented by many a photographer, dog Walker and cyclist.

A surprisingly quiet, peaceful hidden beauty spot tucked away from the main roads. Sat in amongst a wooded area you'll find this little gem of a church. With spacious grounds & a rather well kept cemetery with a good handful of headstones & ample space for many many more. Definitely worth a trip!
