Capel Gwladys (or Capel Wladus) is the ruins of a medieval Chapel. Historians suggest the site was founded by St. Gwladys (Claudia in Latin), daughter of Brychan, and the wife of St. Gwynllyw Filwr, and mother of St. Cadoc "the wise". It is told that the High-King Arthur supported Gwynllyw's request to wed Gwladys and helped persuade her father to allow the marriage. Lots of history right there for you to Google. Her Troparion: As Queen of a Kingdom of Wales You led an unedifying life. But when you were widowed, your Holy son Cadoc, Was able to convince you to live a holy life. As a hermit, you loved and reposed in prayer. Holy Gwladys, pray to God that our souls be saved! Capel Gwladys is worth a visit if you are touring not-so-popular historical sites. More needs to be done to protect the site from vehicles, people drinking, littering and setting fires.
