Take pictures of every knock and bang (there will be many) yes even the obvious ones) they will weasel there way into blaming you for damage by forgetting to write it down (or they are just very thick) and will just take money out of your account when you challenge them save yourself the agro and go with professionals like enterprise ect also staff are rude and unpleasant. Overall a horrible experience with cowboy renters.

On booking the van, the lady I spoke to on the phone sounded like she couldnt be bothered and didnt have the time for me, she was rude and snobby. When I arrived at their I was met by the lady I spoke to on the phone, she went through documents and set things up on the computer, she then asked me to sign the paperwork, I asked to see the vehicle and do my own vehicle checks on it before signing to make sure it is road legal (when you see the state of the vans visually, you can understand why I wanted to check), she got funny with me asking why do I need to see the van first. I explained to her that it was because its me driving it and responsible for it once Ive signed, not her, she really didnt like that I said that. On checking the van, apart from it having a side indicator out and being a complete and utter mess visually, also the roller door at the back is battered and hanging off, it also didnt fully roll up and I banged my head on it as a result, it looked sturdy enough (just!) to drive out. Engine management light came on whilst returning the van and van went into limp mode. Would I rent again, Id go back to enterprise which I have used 5-6 times before. The only reason I didnt on this occasion was that I needed a van right now and there was one available, it does make me wonder however why there was one available when you struggle to get a hire van these days, yet they had one available then and also have several more of them at the gulf petrol station at Gaerwen. Surely a popular and respected business would be that busy they have nothing available. If I could give some advice to Stermat, loose the lady on the phone, her customer service is appalling, she clearly has better things to do than look after customers, consider upgrading your fleet of rust buckets to some nice new or nearly new vans. On the plus side the two guys round the side, their service was fantastic, it was obvious they were doing their best to maintain the fleet of rust buckets and keep them as clean as possible.
