Abersoch Hydro

A gem of a find! Fantastic sailing and hire school, on a wonderful beach, run by a very considerate family! We hired 3 paddle boards, including one for an 8 year old novice. The staff were brilliant and very patient, even teaching him a few basics, even though it wasnt a lesson. Its an amazing location and all told, felt like very good value. We have no hesitation in recommending Hydro to our friends who go to Abersoch!

Excellent place on the beach. Good staff who are very flexible with bookings. Good value for money and good options. We had the single person kayaks and a canoe. Kids loved being on the sea with control over how and where they went. Carpark is available on the beach and costs 5, worth it for the ease, especially with kids and travelling in for the activity.

Great little place! As a sailing instructor, Ive cancelled many sessions due to weather or staffing issues and its disappointing to see negative comments on that kind of thing below. You can never guarantee that its going to be safe to go on the water as it depends completely on the weather, the worse the weather is the more people you need to make things safe. Hydro offers a friendly and highly competent professional service and id recommend them to anyone looking for some water sport action.

My Sons, Max & Reece, first tried a taster session sailing here at Abersoch Sailing school eight years ago. A couple of years later, they started working at the school as 'beach hands' - helping with kayak/paddleboard hire, etc. Over the next 2-3 years, they became approved RYA qualification in Powerboat, PWC sailing, are now RYA sailing instructors and part of the Abersoch Hydro family - and it is a safe, fun, family feel! Abersoch Hydro is the new name for Abersoch Sailing School & would absolutely recommend them!

Our entire family structured our day around a sailing boat hire which we confirmed in the morning only to be told on arrival that all hires were cancelled due to staffing issue (a mere hour later). There was no apology for our inconvenience, no attempt to make up for ruining multiple people's days with their lack of organisation, nothing. Disgusted doesn't even begin to sum up how I feel about this terrible operation.
