Formatt-Hitech Ltd.

I've been a Formatt Hitech user for a number of years and find the clarity and neutrality of the Firecrest glass to be excellent. The holder is innovative and (when compared to other makes) feature-rich and amazing value. They play a huge part in my style of photography. On the very rare occasion I've needed to seek help from the company, the service I've received has been outstanding and, to my mind, that's the mark of a great company.

In an increasingly saturated photographic filter market, it can be hard to know what to choose and which brand to commit to. In my 15 years of photography experience, Formatt-Hitech have proven themselves to me to be one of the most outstanding, exemplary brands that I have had the pleasure of dealing with. I have been a user of their products for around four to five years. Since I bought my first Formatt Hitech holder, my collection has grown extensively as, quite simply, I haven't found anything better since. The filter holders strike a perfect balance between durability and light weight, alongside a series of innovative and unique features to make my life as a photographer easier, whilst causing less pain to my wallet through clever design choices. I've used a wide variety of filters and products from other manufacturers in the past, but have not found anything that matches up to the overall standard that Formatt Hitech have set. This is particularly the case with the Firecrest Ultra filters, which have proven to be stellar performers in every single situation that I have been able to throw at them so far: No loss of sharpness, virtually neutral cast and very durable (yes, I've dropped one or two before!). If I've ever had a problem, their team have worked extremely hard to help in whatever way they can in and, no matter who I've spoken with, I have always been treated in a kind and friendly manner. I couldn't ask for better.

I currently do a talk at photography club level called Filters in the Field, using a selection of my prints and Formatt Hitech Filter products to show how I manipulate different lighting conditions with filters to achieve my images. A question that I get asked time and time again is, why do you use Formatt Hitech Filters? For me its simple, I work in the world of Manufacturing and very proud of the skill set and reputation British Manufacturing has worldwide, so to support a company like Formatt Hitech and the beautifully crafted portfolio of products they have is important especial as they are UK based. This reputation in my opinion rings true with one word, longevity, and by this, I mean after five years of use my Firecrest range of filter still remain like new and bringing me those beautiful natural tones in my images, that is so important to me. So, with this in mind my initial investment brought longevity of life in products that I am happy to endorse in my own work.
