ARM Roofing & Painting (Edward Armstrong) have now had their memberships to both Checkatrade and Trusted Tradesmen Scotland revoked. They are not members of The National Federation of Roofing Contractors, they are conmen masquerading as tradesmen. They have also deleted their Facebook page and undoubtedly will try and reinvent themselves to fleece more people. Avoid.

I contacted the trader to undertake works at my property which included repairs to my roof to solve a rain water ingress problem. Following a brief investigation, the trader advised that water entering my property was not a result of defects in the roof but rather due to a fault in the existing guttering system (advised that existing gutter was holding excessive rain water which was subsequently overflowing into the property through gaps between the walls and the roof). The trader recommended replacing the old gutter with a new one in order to solve the water ingress problem. Less than 24hours after the works were completed, however, I was surprised to find that rain water was still entering the property. I have since made several attempts to contact the trader to bring this to his attention as the problem is now causing damage to the plasterboard inside my property. In spite of providing me with a five year guarantee for all works (as well as taking payment in full), I am extremely disappointed that the trader has made no effort to resolve the matter. The fact that my most recent communications have been ignored altogether is very discouraging, especially given that the trader is a member of Checkatrade. I feel that I have been left with no option but to leave this feedback and have the works rectified by another trader.
