Co-op Food - Wigtown

All essentials covered and staff are very friendly.

Since moving to Wigtown several months ago this wee co-op has been a great lifeline for us. The staff are all amazingly friendly and approachable especially if you can't find anything, all you need to do is ask and they're always happy to help.

Good size shop. Handy for the locals a 'like'. average co-op items ..

Having been unable to get a vegan meal in either of the two restaurants that were open in the area, we tried to get something to eat in the Co-Op over the road. Usually Co-Ops have good plant based meal deal options, not this one, they had nothing available. Very poor in 2022 to not have better options. One member of staff barged past, bumping my husband, (who was trying to close a broken freezer door) as she was talking on a headset and called back, Ill just squeeze past you there, no apology, just utterly rude. In the end we bought bags of salad and rolls and headed back to the holiday rental to make them. We bought plant based burgers and half of those were freezer burned when we opened them. Just terrible experience, that caused other business to miss out on our potential custom, since we were forced to head out of Scotlands Book Town to eat. We cant be the only vegan or vegetarian customers to visit the town.
