        I live in this delightful little town in this remote corner of Galloway. Interesting and historic this once depressed and deprived community has been regenerated by gaining Scottish Book Town status over the past 20 years. A fascinating place to visit especially for its book festival at end of September: a must do you event on any bibliophile's bucket list.
