Lovely place to visit. The weather on the day we visited (October) was a tad wet but can only imagine how nice the pebbled beach is in summer. There are toilet facilities on the car park but closed in winter. The scenic walk to Auchenmalg Bay is good but No Dogs are allowed. When we arrived at Auchenmalg we were really disappointed that despite the web saying it was dog friendly, it wasnt and we decided to move on to Newton Stewart where there are many cafes that welcome dogs.

We found this place on Google maps and had intended to stop for the night in our motorhome on our way home. Unfortunately when we arrived there was a no overnight parking sign and so had to abide by their rules and moved on. Not before we had a look around though. The area is so pretty, a pebble beach with easy access, picnic tables on grass and a toilet block too. Fantastic for a picnic or even a full days visit. The car park would probably accommodate 10 cars comfortably and there was very little traffic the time that we stayed there. Although not ideal for our intended use, absolutely perfect for picnics.

Over the years, we have stayed in a quite a few places both here and abroad. This is genuinly one of, if not thee nicest properties we have rented. It felt like a real home rather than the usual holiday rental, being exceedingly well equiped. The lounge area is very spacious with plenty of seating, the most amazing collection of dvd's and book's if you get bored. This and the kitchen dinning area is done in a beach house style but the owners have it just right, its not over done. The bedrooms are very comfy, each one with its own ensuite bathroom, 3 have double beds, 1 has two single beds, but is aimed at children as it had a games console with a selection of child friendly games. Theres ample space for 2 or 3 cars so ideal for family meet ups or reunions. We genuinly could not fault it and would go back.
