    Marketed as a luxury lodge, it was far from it. There wasn't double beds in each room as advertised. Me, my wife, my mum, and my step dad all ended up sleeping in single, fold up camper beds. The facilities were filthy. The bins not emptied after the last guests. There was no hot water in half the bathrooms. The only working shower was in the sauna room, which had no lock on the door. We were supposed to leave the lodge by 10am, but at 9.30am the cleaners turned up and tried to move us along, out of their way. Our first full family (14 people) trip since before covid was only saved by being with each other.

    We had a hen party booked at this site for the end of August 2020, due to Covid-19 the wedding has been postponed to 2022. This means that the hen do is being moved to 2022 also, The intention to still have this at the Woodfield spa. Under the current circumstances and being unable to host more than a few different households inside at once (we had booked for 16 people) we asked to either cancel or potentially move our booking to 2022. Host has refused to pay back any of the deposit (not even offering a partial refund) or move the booking past 12 months claiming as he is a small business he has been adversly affected due to covid (as we all have). He has not responded to our last email and has released the dates onto his website without even an email to confirm this was happening. Absolutely no empathy for having moved a wedding, simply quoting standard T&Cs in very non standard time.
