Barleystone Care Home

Avoid ..... This care home has rapidly gone down hill last few months, unfortunately mum was moved in here 2020 all was well, nowadays there is more bank staff than permanent HC one staff, the HC one staff are exceptional and go above and beyond, the bank staff have no knowledge off the residents needs and quite simply care more about the money than the residents, I would not recommend this place to anyone under the current management

I feel that my relative is neglected, he looks very untidy and often has the same clothes on for a few days, his room is like a tip and never seems to be cleaned, his wardrobe was full of t-shirts, polo shirts some that were brand new and have never been worn, these have mysteriously disappeared and when you ask the staff they make excuses, my sister also had a large amount of money stolen when she had left her shopping trolley unattended for a few minutes, we have a good idea who it was, so I wouldn't recommend barleystone.

This was my first time visiting. Staff were unfriendly and confrontational. The facility was not clean, carpets and floors were dirty and your feet was sticking to them. I was shocked and disappointed with this so called care home

My Granny stayed here for 3.5 months. She wasn't washed, helped to put on clean clothes or helped to go outside. She was frequently given the wrong clothes (even though her own were clearly labelled), her feet were in such a bad state when she left they were bleeding- this after my mum repeatedly asked the staff for help. Emails were not replied to and the manager (wrongly) told my mum she couldn't show her the care plan when in fact it hadn't been written. My mum has complained to the Care Inspectorate and HC One. I would not recommend this home. It is only getting one star because I wasn't able to post a review without one

Hi,had a tour recently of this nursing home.all went well found the place very warm,clean and cosy.hoping to put my father in there soon.staff were very friendly,plenty sitting area's for residents and visitors.menu's had plenty choice.yes i would recommend this home.
