After a long drive through increasingly beautiful scenery travelling north, we found Loch View guesthouse tucked away down a lane in a gorgeous setting between hillside and water. We were met with a wonderfully warm, friendly welcome and shown to our room. Despite the generous size of the house, there are just 3 rooms but they are exceptional; each one is spacious, comfortable and well decorated with beautiful views. We had the smallest of the 3 but this was still generously sized and we didn't want for space. The location in such a stunning area makes it an ideal base for walkers and cyclists or a stop off for NC500 tourers, but the quiet and the comfortable rooms also make it ideal as just a quiet place to get away from urban life. The breakfasts are superb and encompass a wide choice from lighter healthy options to excellent full cooked Scottish using locally sourced ingredients. Nobody gets out hungry! ;-) Fiona is an excellent cook! We had such an incredibly relaxing week here that I actually hesitated before writing a review as I selfishly wanted to keep this amazing discovery for ourselves. It would be wrong not to promote Derek and Fionas hard work in creating such a lovely experience though, they have chased a dream in making Loch View and it shows; I can't recommend it strongly enough. We were truly sad to leave, but will definitely make the effort to return. It's a long way North for most people, but it is absolutely worth the effort.
