My dad and I stayed in the Garden Room during our winter trip, and Emma was an outstanding host! Not many tourists passing through this time of year, but Emma was most accommodating and took great care of us. She was gracious enough to open her kitchen for us despite our late arrival, and prepared a delicious breakfast as well. Thanks for hosting two off-season travelers ... Hope to stay again one day!

(Translated by Google) Small room, shower water was either freezing cold or scalding hot, mixing was virtually impossible. Breakfast and service good. (Original) Kleines Zimmer, das Wasser zum Duschen war entweder eiskalt oder brhend hei, mischen war praktisch unmglich. Frhstck und Service gut.

From the moment we turned into the carpark of the Old Smiddy B&B for our two night stay at the end of our adventure filled road trip around the NC500, we felt the famous Highland welcome from Emma and Tim. The setting of the small rural village although small, had plenty to do in the area. The owners were more than happy to divulge information on all types of activities and sights; recommending walks, beaches, local history and the beautiful Inverewe Gardens & Estate. The food was absolutely stunning and our room (The Studio Room) was both comfortable and pristine, with the added luxury of scottish toiletries and dressing gowns; not forgetting the breathtaking view of Guirnard Bay and Island (Anthrax Island). We will definitely be coming back to stay, and highly recommend this little gem in the Scottish Highlands.
