The cottage is cosy and tastefully furnished, with wonderful views across Eynhallow Sound to Rousay, and lovely hosts, welcoming, helpful and friendly. It was certainly a homely place to return to after exploring the wonders of Orkney, where the dramatic seascapes, amazing birdlife and ancient archealogy all conspire to whisk you away to a different realm.

This is such a little gem of a house. Perfectly placed for exploring, especially West Mainland. However it's also within easy driving distance of Kirkwall and the east side too. The house is set back from the road, so no noticeable vehicle noise but is also convenient for travel, even by local bus. There is a beautiful beach within walking distance, and the Broch of Gurness also within easy reach on foot (and by car if that's easier). The house itself is very warm and cosy, and immaculately clean throughout. It has been very tastefully decorated with a bit of a mix of traditional and contemporary. The double bed was very comfortable, and plenty of space in that room for clothing and other personal effects. A nice touch was the rocking chair near the window, lovely in the evening. The heaters are amazing - very quick to warm the room and house, and the log burner not only threw out a lot of heat, it made the chilly October evenings very cosy. The kitchen is well equipped so cooking is no issue here. Overall a very peaceful, comfortable stay in a beautiful old house within easy reach of all attractions and sites. Very highly recommended.
