(Translated by Google) Nice, small and cheap campsite, but without sanitary facilities. (Original) Schner kleiner und gnstiger, Campingplatz, allerdings ohne Sanitranlagen.

No toilets or showers, because you'll have your own. Toilet waste disposal on site, grey waste water, fresh water too. Electric and hard standing pitches. There's a large farm shed, a little cluttered, where you can recycle and empty non-recyclable rubbish. There's a phone number as you come into the site, to your right, in case no one's around, I think the owner is Jim? A nice chap. Do respect farm lands, they are not for walking our dogs in. Do pick up dog waste as it can cause abortions and neurological disease in certain farm animals. I had a boyfriend who was a vet. I am not a veterinary nurse. Just a responsible dog owner. Nice view. Nice owner. Only 5 pitches, quiet site. Entrance to site is rather vague, easy to go past the sign, slow down, turn in and go up the farm track. Mind the wildlife. Some places of interest: Turning LEFT out of Stonehigh caravan site, drive along the road no more than a mile (less than), there's Mistra Shop/post office. Slow down as the road sign for the shop is small. It is a VERY good quality shop. Excellent service. It's under new ownership, a smashing chap, very helpful and patient. There is so much now to choose from of good quality foodstuffs. Lots of fresh fish, meat, cheese, olives, etc, cooked meats, fresh vegetables and fruits, eggs, etc, etc. All everyday needs are sold there from toilet paper to laundry powers, toiletries, etc. And luxuries too. Lots of choice. Lovely handmade, nice quality, very reasonably priced bags. I bought five bags! Worth it. There's jewellery, etc. There's so much. Damien will get you what you need, foodwize, if he can whilst your visiting. I ordered some things. This shall be my fifth consecutive year to Orkney but I only met the new owner last summer, 2022. There was never such lovely foodstuffs to choose from from the previous nice, older owners, who had had the shop for several years and needed to retire. Deservedly so. Coming out of Mistra shop turn right by the post box and drive along the road, perhaps a couple of miles, to the garden centre where there is also a charity cabin, I think it's only open from Thursdays to weekends, please check as I maybe wrong. I think there's a push button bell on the cabin which goes up to the house. From there, turn right and make your way back, past, Stonehigh caravan site, further along the road where there is a sign near the Eviedale Honesty Box for the Broch of Gurness; In my view the best Neolithic site in Orkney. Don't forget to pop into Eviedale Honestly Box to buy sourdough pastries, bread, etc. Excellent quality. Full of flavour. When their open their sign will be visible. Pop in before you turn down for the Broch of Gurness. A little quality is better than quantity! But, do try Stonehigh's nice, quiet, little caravan/campervan site before you leave Evie Village, I think you'll enjoy it, I do. Lovely loch views. I hope I've been of some help. Cherio fellow campervaners, enjoy wonderful Orkney :-)

Lovely views. Facilities as stated were good however there is no dog walk. While walking down the farm track (the only place the dog walk could be as saw noone to ask) leading from the farm with the dog on a lead the farmer on the next farm a few hundred yards away leading down toward the main road asked us not to walk there as his dogs were running free. Just beware not to expect a dog walk if using this site.
