Button-Ben Guest House

Oh, this was my favorite B&B Ive ever stayed at. May makes you feel like you are at home!!! The fresh baked goods every night were such a wonderful treat, the breakfast was always exceptional and the info May gives you on her beloved island cant be beat. The bed was so comfy, bathroom was big and room was spotless and had a small fridge! I really felt like I came home every night: thats rare in a B&B. I had a glorious time in Orkney and a big part of that was due to May and her kindness and generosity! Thanks again for a wonderful time!! Edit!! I forgot that May made me a to-go baggie with sandwiches and such for my trip back the the mainland!!!

The stay at the Button-Ben Guest House was amazing. We definitely recommend staying there. On colder, windy days, it was great to go back to the room to warm up and find a delicious dessert waiting for us. My wife thinks May's porridge is one of the best and the breakfast overall was a perfect way to start the day. May's a great host and made us feel at home even though we were thousands of miles away.

So very impressed with everything about this place, May was absolutely wonderful and we wish we could have stayed longer. Home bakes were absolutely delicious, such a lovely welcoming touch. Our room was great, we loved the view. The satnav couldn't locate the house or road, but there are so many signposts it was easy to find (even in the dark) Toby the dog was friendly too, and enjoyed my toast scraps. We had to catch the early ferry so May kindly did up a pack lunch instead of breakfast and we really appreciated it. We were on our honeymoon and she even gave us a lovely card and some homemade tablet to wish us well.

You couldn't ask for a better host than Mae! The rooms were comfortable, spacious, clean, and well appointed. She made fabulous breakfasts and home bakes every day. She even got up at 5:30 on our last day to send us off with sack lunches since we didn't want such an early breakfast. And the location was fantastic, though truthfully so much of Orkney is a peaceful and visual pleasure. Could not recommend our stay any more highly.
