The battle of Harlaw monument was erected 1911 on the 500th anniversary of the battle in july of 1411 between mcdonalds of rosshire and the lowlands, earl of mar in the second wars of independence. It appears to have been a marginal victory for the lowlanders as they lost less men at around 600 and the mcdonalds retreated after losing around 900. The momument is very tall and decorated with insignias and banners as well as a small info board. Quite a cool wee memorial and worth the visit but there is little else to look at and maybe not worth the trouble of going to visit unless you happen to be passing. Open to the public.
